In the United States, poverty is often framed as a personal moral failing. We imagine that any individual can overcome their poverty and acheive comfortable middle class life or rich life with the right amount of hard work and grit. These stamps challenge this notion by reframing poverty as an uneven playing field through which a  person must somehow advance.
